35mm black and white film photography
Analogue wedding photography
I’m super excited to be offering 35mm film photography alongside my digital photography from 2024! We have got so used to producing perfect images over the last couple of decades, fixing (almost!) everything in Lightroom or Photoshop. It’s of course brilliant to have these tools available, but there’s also something very charming and nostalgic about the little imperfections and subtle grain of vintage film photography. I’m sticking with black and white film, as I feel it really captures a timeless, classic vibe that I love.
How does it work?
Most of your photos will of course be digital, but I’ll also bring along my sweet little 1980s Canon AE1, as well as a good reliable point and shoot from the late 90s and shoot a few frames throughout the day. I’ll then have the film(s) developed and will upload digital previews for you, which are a bit like online negatives. You’ll be able order any prints you like.
What prints can I order and how much do they cost?
I offer a variety of print products in various sizes. I personally think the black and white analogue photos look best on fine art paper, which has a slightly textured and matt finish, so I always recommend this. But there are lots of different options. Prices start from £7 for a standard-sized (6x4 inch) print.
Do you do colour as well as black and white?
At the moment I’m only shooting black and white as I love it best, but I’m experimenting with some colour film this year too, so if you are interested, we can discuss.
