Pauli & Sean's elopement at Guildford Registry Office

Pauli and Sean’s fabulous little elopement at Guildford Registry office came a bit out of the blue. They’d booked me to photograph their bigger wedding next April, but then decided they actually really did want some beautiful photos of their tiny registry wedding this autumn as well. So they asked me to come along for a couple of extra hours, and it was such a treat to be part of this gorgeous afternoon.

I sat in on their lovely ceremony, but due to the Covid-regulations, I was only able to take photos of the signing of the register. Pauli’s parents had flown over from South Africa, quaranteening for 14 days beforehand to witness this special day, before flying back home again the very next day. That’s true parental love!

We then headed up to St Martha’s Hill for a little hike up to this gorgeous church with absolutely glorious views. It was a perfect autumn afternoon, not too chilly, with the sunlight coming through the trees. We went for a relaxed stroll, got excited about the light and colours and exchanged cat stories. A perfect Wednesday afternoon. I now can’t wait to do it all again next April, when they’ll have another blessing, hopefully with all the guests they’d like to be there.
