Sophie and Richard’s wedding at the Chelsea Old Town Hall was one of the few weddings I photographed this summer that wasn’t a postponement. They decided to get married just before their baby arrived, booked it, and it happened, which was wonderful and a bit of a miracle in 2021! It was such a happy day. Covid restrictions still in force, but it didn’t matter one bit.

We started off at the town hall, where Sophie and Richard exchanged their vows in a beautiful and emotional ceremony surrounded by their close family. After some excellent confetti action on the stairs - I always love that backdrop - we jumped in a black cab to Albert Bridge for their couple photos. It’s close to where they live, and also where Richard proposed to Sophie, and it’s always extra lovely to take photos in a location with a special personal connection.

It was getting rather hot, so we gobbled down a quick ice lolly before jumping back in a taxi to the RAC on Pall Mall, where their families were waiting for them, and reception was kicked off with some heartfelt speeches before lunch.
