Madeleine & Edward's wedding at Brompton Oratory London

A winter wedding at London Oratory and Brooks’s Club in Mayfair
I do love how London changes through the seasons. The light transforms quite dramatically in the late autumn months, becoming much cooler and the city takes on a kind of steely look. Madeleine and Edward love history and tradition, and their wedding at the Brompton Oratory and Brooks’s Club in Mayfair beautifully reflected their style.
The day started with a few getting ready photos at Brooks’s before heading over to the Oratory. The horses and carriage were a last minute addition, which I thought was so glamourus and also super fun. It’s always great to see how Londoners react to seeing a bride out and about, and everyone start cheering and waving on the streets. The ceremony in the Brompton Oratory was stunning and atmospheric as always, and a joy to capture for someone who loves historic architecture.
M & E then hopped back on the carriage to Mayfair and we went for a nice relaxed walk around the streets for their couple photos. We even found some autumn leaves left on the trees. It’s such a beautiful part of town with lots of variety in backdrops, and I always love shooting around there. Back at Brooks’s there were drinks in the lovely old library followed by dinner and speeches, with lots of cheer and some brilliant spontaneous singing. The evening finished off with a traditional bouquet toss and dancing. I enjoyed walking back through Mayfair with all the Christmas lights on full display… a perfect day.
