Asylum Chapel wedding - Alice and Filippo
Asylum Chapel London wedding photos
We had the perfect spring day for Alice and Filippo’s gorgeous whirlwind wedding day at the Asylum Chapel and around Southeast London last year. The day started off at the cool Dixon Hotel at Tower Bridge, where Alice had booked a suite (totally worth it if you can, to give you a bit more space, especially if you have a few people with you whilst getting ready). Filippo was also staying at the hotel in a different room, so I could move between them easily and get photos of both of them getting ready.
We then jumped in taxis to drive over to the Asylum Chapel. I was really excited, as I absolutely love the interior and feel of this venue, and it was a sunny day too, so the the light streaming into the stained glass windows made it look extra special. Filippo is Italian, and the wedding was a lovely blend of Italian and English friends and family meeting, some for the first time.
The ceremony was short and sweet with a couple of lovely readings from family. We went out for confetti photos straight after, followed by family and couple photos. There are so many great backdrops around the venue, I was glad Alice and Filippo were keen on having lots of photos taken, so we could make the most of this beautiful space, whilst their guests were enjoying canapés and drinks. We made sure there was time at the end, so they could join their guests for a while to say hello and have a drink themselves too.
Alice had booked a cream coloured vintage London bus to take us all to the Lordship Pub in Dulwich, which I’d never been too before, and really enjoyed. They had only booked me for half a day, so after photographing arrival at the venue, and the beautiful table decorations and flowers, I left them to enjoy the rest of their day.
